Inside the plant
Van de Wiele looms for carpets and velvet
Industrial weaving at scale, with the control of a design studio. Here is how a design becomes a carpet.

Carpets
Face-to-face weaving
Van de Wiele looms weave two carpets at once, face to face, then split them. Each loom is driven directly from our design files, so any of our 2,000+ designs can be woven in any standard size, as a runner up to 25 metres, or as a prayer rug.
- Heat-set polypropylene, polyester and acrylic yarns
- Standard rug sizes and hall runners up to 25 m
- Shearing, latex back-coating, overlock and packing in house

Velvet
Velvet with the design in the weave
Our velvet looms weave the design directly into a dense, low, soft pile: solids, textures, damasks and florals, in the colourways our customers specify, in standard sizes and runners.
- Rugs in standard sizes and runners up to 25 m
- Custom colourways from our yarn palette
- Finishing and inspection line beside the looms
